Here's my review of Tara Ellis's second novel 'Heritage'. I reviewed her first book a month or so ago and, since then, have gotten to know her a little better. After I made some criticisms of the grammatical errors in 'Bloodline', she got in touch and I offered some (constructive) feedback. She then asked if I would edit her next book. Being the kind soul that I am (and a bit of a sucker for punishment) I have just finished her novel and sent back my suggestions and corrections. I thought that I would post my review here as well for any interested readers.
Ellis's second installment in the Forgotten Origins Trilogy is a fast-paced adventure as, once again, the world faces an imminent threat. But more than that, this book has demonstrated the author's growing skill in developing characters who the reader comes to know and care about. I particularly enjoyed the glimpse we were given into how the events of the last novel had affected the wider world.
There are times when the plot became quite complex, but generally this was handled with skill. An enjoyable SciFi read with a creative approach.
